Building awareness through gamification

Gaming has grown tremendously in the last decades and is becoming of age now. Time to move forward. Games can be used to support the use of management models and can help building awareness and change behaviour, causing better results. Gamers typically are extremely motivated in an autonomous way. They display more effort when they play, they adore looking for adventure and are used to make trade-offs between efforts and rewards. They also experience that cooperation pays off. Why not use those highly appreciated traits in the real world.

Building awareness for the complexity of running an organization and the quest for insight can be facilitated through business games. While playing people work together and see the results of their own decisions. Gradually the parameters of the game - the sensitivity of metrics, different time lags of events after certain stimuli – are replaced by real-lief information from their own organization. What starts as a game evolves towards the real thing. Resistance to change is significantly lower in such a setting…
